Announcing Our 2012 ChangeWorks Cruise!!

Hi, Everyone!

We’re happy to announce the 2012 ChangeWorks Community Cruise!

Based on the overall feedback we received about the cruise itself, we’ve looked at our options, weighed out the relative advantages and disadvantages of different lines and departure ports and decided to stay with Carnival Cruise Lines in the Caribbean for our 2012 ChangeWorks Community Cruise.

We will be sailing aboard the Carnival Liberty, departing from Miami on Saturday, February 11th, 2012 for Cozumel, Mexico — Belize City, Belize — Isla Roatan, Honduras — Georgetown, Grand Cayman — and two glorious days at sea before returning to Miami.

For full details, visit the Carnival website:

Carnival Liberty, February 11-18, 2012

For reservations information, please work ONLY with our Carnival Personal Vacation Planner, Raul. Raul can be reached at 800-819-3902 extension 85772. You can also reach him on his cell phone at 305-710-1421. Raul will be happy to answer all of your questions and help you pick out a room! If someone else answers the phone, just tell them you’re calling for Raul and that our group has been arranged by Linda Napier. It’s absolutely critical that your reservations are made through Raul so that your reservation can be linked to our group.

We are really looking forward to the cruise — and we are hoping you will be joining us!

Here are 5 GREAT Reasons to BOOK NOW!

* Early Booking pricing is available! That means that if you see that Carnival has lowered the prices up to two days before the cruise, just let Raul know and he will adjust to the lower price for you and give you an onboard credit for the difference.

* Get the best choice in staterooms! When it comes to choosing a stateroom, it’s location, location, location. You definitely don’t want to be above the disco or below the galley!

* Want to share a room? Let Raul know or send Linda a note and she will put it in her next email update. You can also leave a comment here so you can contact others who want to go.

* Families are more than welcome!! The ship is a fabulous place for the kids to have fun — AND if you want to leave the kids at home, we’ll be in Belize on Valentine’s Day!

* Start earning cruise credits! Refer a new ChangeWorks professional to us and we’ll provide you with a $100 bonus but ONLY if you join us on the cruise!

While we know that everyone wants to get away for a few days, get to know one another better and basically enjoy their cruise, we will be offering an optional daily learning event and sharing dinner as a group every evening. The topics for the learning events will be decided closer to our departure date and will be based on the requests made by the ChangeWorks professionals who will be on the cruise.

If you have any questions, please give us a call at 704-987-6500.

An Alternative Engagement Layer

Hi, Everyone!

Following our most recent discussion about the “Engagement Rings” layer of the ChangeGrid, I received an email from Steve Snyder proposing an alternative scheme.  Here’s his idea:

An Alternative for our Consideration

And here is the current layer:

What do you think??  I’d love to discuss this on next week’s ChangeWorks Forum or Gold Team Call.  I’ll check with Steve to see which of those he’s planning to attend and schedule it accordingly.

2011 ChangeWorks Cruise Review

Hi, Everyone!

We wanted to share the fantastic photos and feedback we received from the ChangeWorks professionals who joined us on the cruise:

To reach the photo album, follow this link:

http://gallery.me.com/tfalconnapier#100029

Here’s a few highlights of what they had to say:

1) What did you think about the mix between work time and pleasure?

“It was a good mix.” — “A bit more work would have worked for me.” — “What I appreciated about the lighter group schedule is that it allowed all of us to have more one-on-one time with T, and we could individually decide on how much time we wanted to spend with him. It also gave us plenty of time to meet with the other participants.”

2) Did you feel that you got more benefit from formal time (classes and coaching) or informal time (chats and meals)?

“Formal time definitely.” — “Both were very valuable.” — “I got more benefit from formal time in terms of my professional development, particularly around building my business. The informal time, though, was great for relationship building. Both are needed.”

3) Overall, what did you think of a cruise as the setting for the ChangeWorks conference?

“It seems to work for this type of venue.” — “It was a great combo of work and fun.” — “Excellent — would prefer a cruise over another setting.”

4) How did the conference enhance your role as a ChangeWorks professional.

“On a scale of 1 to 10, it was a 15+” — “Helped me identify how to leverage the ChangeGrid more effectively and creatively for my work.”

5)  What should we keep and what should we change for future ChangeWorks conferences?

“The 1.5 hour group classes were good.” — “Add a cocktail hour so we can stand and mingle and mix.” — “I liked the team-member-driven agenda format.” — “I’d like a couple more group sessions on the sea days.” — “Keep the cruise. Keep the 1-on-1 coaching sessions. Survey class topics before the cruise.”

6) What would you say to someone who was on the fence abut coming on the cruise next year?

“I came with an agenda and I got all I was seeking … and more.” — “Don’t miss it!  The ROI is much higher than you imagine – excellent coaching tailored to your business from T himself, wonderful people to spend time with and get to know, a relaxing vacation that can be as simple or eventful as you choose, and a perfect get away from it all so that you can update your business’ strategic plan.” — “You don’t know what you’re missing.”

7) What other comments would you like to share?

“It was great that you were so inclusive of our spouses/partners.”

We’re so glad that the professionals who joined us got so much out of the cruise and conference — and we hope to welcome so many more of you on our 2012 ChangeWorks Community Cruise.

There’s so much more to share — and we’re applying all of the feedback into our plans for the next cruise!

Details coming VERY soon!

2011 ChangeWorks Community Cruise

Hi, Everyone!

We’re in the process of compiling photos, details of key learning events and participant feedback about our cruise and will plan to share that with all of you in the next few days.  In the meantime, here’s a brief glimpse into a major part of life aboard the Carnival Freedom — EATING — beginning with our farewell toast at dinner on the last night. We had a total of 14 people in our party:

Ajai Singh, Alan Varagona, Paul Plamondon, Tom Freese, Dave Miller, Joanne Miller, Lynn Varagona and Alan Dobzinski

Steven Magnall, Linda Napier, Tony Magnall, T. Napier, Welyne Thomas, Bud Thomas

We actually spent 2+ hours eating dinner every night, mixing up the seating arrangements so we all had a chance to get to know one another better.  These photos were taken in the Posh Dining Room where we ate most nights — but we shared one very special meal in the Sun King Steakhouse, featuring amazing food, exemplary service and THE dessert that caused the reaction we showed in the last post … Ajai’s Citrus Cheesecake with Hazelnut Crust. Just LOOK at the size of this monster:

Truly a wonderful time with a GREAT group of people — and there’s much more to follow later this week!

What Caused THIS Reaction?

Hi, Everyone!

What caused Paul Plamondon — and Steven and Tony Magnall — to do this …. ??

We’ll reveal the answer and share with you some of the many highlights of the ChangeWorks Community Cruise tomorrow!

Our Christmas 2010 Dickens Village

Hi, Everyone!

About once every five years, Linda and I muster the gumption to set up our Dickens Village — a feat that takes dozens of hours by the time we lug over 20 huge boxes of collectibles down from the attic, unpack everything, design the village layout, run the wiring, install the roads, build the elevations, place the buildings, position the people, landscape the terrain and finally, make it snow — oh — and clean up the mess!

It’s over 20 feet long and fills over 60 square feet of  surface with 30 lighted buildings, over 400 trees, 217 villagers, a parade, a holiday bazaar in the botanical garden, a stream, a farm, dozens of birds and animals and a wilderness lodge area.

We absolutely love it when it’s finally set up  — and this year, Linda decided to photograph the village from a villager’s eye level and give you an idea of what it would be like to visit their magical world. Photographing miniatures isn’t easy, but Linda is quite an expert and produced some very nice shots.

I wanted to share the album with all of you — so just click on the photo below to access the gallery — and click on the slideshow button in the lower left corner of the gallery window to view them at full size.

We wanted to dismantle, repack and store it all before we left on the cruise — and that takes almost as much time as setting it up — so it will probably be another 5 years before we do it again.
